God Bless FSU

FSU got Commitment #11: Mr. Tank Sessions *** DE from Decatur GA committed to the Noles. Mr. Sessions is 6'6" 225Lbs and runs a 4.75 40 yard dash. He will be a TE at FSU. Recruited by James Coley and Dexter Carter. Has offers from Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.

WR Richard Goodman has been reinstated to the Football team. All charges involving the campus brawl have been dropped. Welcome back.

There are no scholarship fullbacks on the FSU roster. Marcus Sims left the team to go to North Alabama (Terry Bowden). Possible LB switch to FB but doubtful. TE may line up at FB. More to follow as things develop.

Freshman to contribute: One freshman that keeps making an impression during summer workouts is Safety Mr. Jajuan Harley. I think this kid will be special.

Whats Been Going On!

FSU got commitments 7 and 8 this week. These recruits committed during the Seminole Showtime Camp. This is a football camp that many of the nations best high school football players attend and they are coached by the actual Seminole coaches and past former great Seminole players such as Derrick Brooks, Chris Weinke, and Corey Simon to name a few.

Commitment #7 Corey Miller **** DE from Duncan SC. Mr. Miller is 6'4" 227 Lbs and is timed at 4.6 in the 40 yard dash. Has offers from Georgia, Miami, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Currently unknown who recruited him. Excellent pick up by the Noles.

Commitment #8 Terrence Brooks NR CB from Dunnellon Florida. Mr. Brooks is 5'10" 160 Lbs. Has offers from Miami, USF, and Ole Miss. Recruited by Dexter Carter. Great cover skills. I like this pick up.

Freshman OL Aubrey Phillips (Miss) has left the team. He was asked to lose 20 lbs before coming to FSU. Instead he gained 20 lbs and weighed 340 lbs when he arrived. Evidently that wasn't tolerated (GOOD) and he decided to leave than get in shape. Auburn is the current leader for his transfer. I wish him the best in his future.

BAD NEWS LB Vince Williams is out for the season. He is having back surgery to repair a bulging disk.

10 Reasons FSU wins the ACC Championship

10. STABILITY: This coaching staff has been together for 3 years now and the players know what is expected from them, "EXCELLENCE"!

9. CONDITIONING: Every player who could (Medically) participate in the off-season workouts is bigger, faster, stronger, and leaner.

8. CULTURE: Excellence, winning, and working hard is the mentality at FSU. The coaching staff has set the foundation and the players are responding.

7. DEFENSE: There are questions at certain positions, but Mickey Andrews and staff have constantly put a good product on the field.

6. ACC STRENGTH: BC lost everything. WF took a major hit in graduations. VT, UNC, Miami, and GT will be battling each other in the Coastal side.

5. QB PLAY: Ponder will be improved and E.J. Manuel will get meaningful playing time and he is a STUD.

4. LINEBACKERS: This group of young men will instill fear in the hearts of our opponents. The speed and power to get to the QBs on blitzes and cover the their assignments on pass coverage ability will lay havoc to the conference.

3. RECRUITING: The quality of player that has come to FSU since this current coaching staff has taken over has increased ten fold. These players are now the key contributors and have shown glimpses of greatness these past couple years.

2. ATTITUDE: These players know that they can win a Conference Title and they know they can compete for a National Championship. More importantly they understand it is something earned and not entitled to FSU.

1. OFFENSIVE LINE: Games are won in the trenches and this is the meanest, toughest, and determined group in the conference. All improvements in FSU's Offense are because of the effort of these fine young men.Oh ya.........They got meaner, tougher, and more determined.

Running Backs

Here is a video I ran across on Youtube featuring the 2009 Running Backs.

SSSHHH!!!

The dreaded Jinx Post:
Everything in Seminole Land appears to be going well.
FSU is aggressively going after the best recruits in the Nation, concentrating in Florida, South Georgia, with a sprinkle in other states.
The Summer Conditioning program is in full swing and the incoming freshman are participating. Everyone got bigger, faster and stronger this year.
For the most part the players are staying out of trouble with the exception of a reserve linebacker.
The team is doing more things together outside of football.
FSU is awaiting the NCAA's decision on victories for several coaches and programs. This is not just a Bobby Bowden issue. Either way I look forward to this chapter being closed no matter the decision.
For the most part this has been the best off season the players have had in some time and it should pay dividends this year.
