Just Football

Jacobbi McDaniel will no longer be playing baseball. He will concentrate on football full time.

All I See is Stars

Just as the NFL Draft is a guessing game and many first rounders flourish and bust the recruiting game is the same thing. "5 Star" players often bust and some live up to the billing just like "3 Star" recruits become All Americans and tank as well. Here is a list of players for FSU over the years and their initial recruiting rank. Very interesting.

2009
Greg Reid (5 Stars) So far he has lived up to the hype.
Jacobbi McDaniel (5 Star) He is not a bust but has to step up to the plate. He is not Warren Sapp yet.

2008
Nigel Bradham (5 Stars) Best player on a poor defense. Not a bust but he is not Marvin Jones or Derrick Brooks yet.
Andrew Datko (3 Stars) Freshman All- American and All ACC candidate.
Jarmon Fortson (4 Stars) drops some no brainer catches but may be the best pro prospect on the Noles.
Taveres Pressley (4 Stars) YAWN.....He has done nothing.
Bo Reliford (2 Stars) Solid Player and filled in nicely when Caz went down.
Jermaine Thomas (3 Stars) Best Running Back on the Team.
Markus White (5 Stars) Not a 5 star caliber player. Yes he starts but a good part of why FSU stunk up the field on defense.

2007
Taiwan Easterling (3 Stars) Solid receiver. Good quality player.
Rodney Hudson (3 Stars) Best OL in the ACC. First Team ALL American candidate.

2006
Christian Ponder (3 Stars) Best QB in the ACC and potential Heisman Candidate.
Brandon Warren (5 Stars) WHO? Left FSU after Freshman All American season and has failed since.
Dakota Watson (3 Stars) Best Defensive player on FSU over the last 2 years.

2005
Callahan Bright (5 Stars) WHO IS THIS GUY? Never played for FSU
Fred Rouse (5 Stars) The worst recruit ever for FSU.
Antoine Smith (5 Stars) Solid Player but not 5 Star production at FSU.

2004
Greg Carr (4 Stars) Best Receiver at FSU while he was there. Solid Career.
Tony Carter (4 Stars) Solid CB at FSU
Xavier Lee (5 Stars) Huge Disappointment.
Lawrence Timmons (4 Stars) Great Player and a Super Bowl Champion with the Steelers.

2003
Antonio Cromartie (4 Stars) Injured for a season but was dynamic when he played. NFL ALL PRO with the Chargers.
Ernie Sims (5 Stars) Great Career at FSU. First Round Draft Pick of the Lions.

2002
Lorenzo Booker (5 Stars) Solid career but not a 5 star billing.
Broderick Bunckley (4 Stars) Great Player. Eagles first round draft pick.
Chris Davis (5 Stars) BUST
Dishonn Platt (5 Stars) BUST. Never played for FSU.
Leon Washington (5 Stars) Great career at FSU and current NY Jet.
Chauncey Stovall (5 Star) He was OK but not close to 5 star production.
Kamerion Wimbley (5 Star) Great FSU Career and first round pick of the Browns.

Change of Heart

Terrence Mitchell decommitted from FSU and committed to USF. Probably a good thing for him considering the quality of CB in this recruiting class for FSU already. Good on Terrence to inform FSU so they can plan accordingly as well.

For you hardcore FSU fans James Coley is THE MAN. I follow his tweets and the man is relentless. He lets you know where he is by Area Code so I have added Florida's area Code map for you tracking pleasure.

The area code he speaks of in his latest tweet is in Louisianna. I have linked the search site for you to look any of them up as well.

Latest Coley Tweets and he is on a rampage.

Finally!

Chris Singleton finally played like one of the best players in the ACC. He has all the tools and has a NBA body. He is gaining confidence which is great. I don't think he will be ready for the NBA after this year, but I don't expect him to stick around for his senior year. He is only a Sophomore so we get one more year to watch him grow.

Great win for FSU and regular season sweep of GT.....not bad!

Who is Left on the Radar

The current 21 verbal commitments are listed in this Blog at the right side of the blog and just scroll down a bit. I expect all those 21 to "Officially" sign with FSU on National Signing Day. Here is a list of current Seminole targets with my educated guess on where they will sign:

Corey Lemonier **** DE from Hialeah Florida (Miami Area) It is said to be a battle between Auburn and FSU and I am going to go with Florida Stae on this. Others at the U.S. Army All Star Game said he was a FSU lean.

J.R. Ferguson **** DE Hargrave Military Academy Virginia. His family is in Mims Florida (Brevard County) and he his a childhood friend of current Seminole Commitment Darious Cummings. Florida State is coming on strong due to those ties to Cummings but he his already used to being away from home and I think he goes to Cal.

Todd Chandler **** DT from Miami Florida. He was a USF commitment but de-committed after the firing of their Head Coach. FSU was recruiting him but Charlie Strong at Louisville has taken the lead on this kid. I think he goes to Louisville.

Calvin Smith **** DT from Hialeah Florida (Miami Area) and teammate of Lemonier. Originally committed to Tennessee but the Kiffin sage changed that. Has said he wants to play outside the state and Alabama wants him. It will be a FSU and Alabama fight but in the end Alabama gets his services.

Bjoen Werner *** DT from Salisbury Connecticut and current teammate of Seminole Commitment Will Tye. He is under rated because he played in Germany in his early high school career. I think he will join Tye at FSU.

Christian Jones ***** OLB from Winter Park Florida. His father and brother played for the Noles, but they are rumored to be upset with FSU about the way the administration handled Bowden's retirement. Jimbo and staff have done well reaching out to him and his family and in the end the FSU ties will prevail.

Shaydon Akuna **** LB from Kapolei Hawaii. That's right he is from Hawaii and Coley has done tremendous things in recruiting him. In the end however I think the distance from his family will be too great for FSU. He will sign with a Pac-10 school most likely Oregon.

Ronald Patrick *** OL from Cocoa Florida. He is a solid commitment to South Carolina and that will not change in my estimation.

Dan Foose *** OL from Paramus New Jersey. Typical OL in Trickett's mold and he is a believer in Trickett. I think he will sign with FSU.

Christian Green **** WR from Tampa Bay Florida. He has been recruited heavily by FSU and he has family ties to FSU. I think he will be at FSU.

Eric Dungy ** S from Tampa Bay Florida and son of NFL Legend Tony Dungy. He is a huge FSU fan and will likely sign with FSU and take a greyshirt which means enroll next January.

Are We There Yet?

It's the last 2 weeks prior to National Signing Day. We might hear of a recruit or two making a commitment but the remaining uncommitted will largely wait till National Signing Day. What happens now is rumors start getting out of control and websites that charge money to get their information really start spreading panic with headlines to make you buy the information. We just need to relax and wait and see what happens. I am very confident that this class will produce on the field especially with improved processes in place to ensure their success at Florida State. We have all seen 5 Star kids bust and 2 Star kids shine so no matter what the end recruiting class may become it should be good in the long run.

Another Change!

Jimbo Fisher has changed some things about "official visits" to Florida State. Recruits and their family on their "official visit" now stay at the Hotel Duval in Tallahassee. "Official visits" are on the Universities dime and now they are putting recruits and their families in the best hotel in Tallahassee for the weekend. The family and coaches have dinner at Shula's Grill at the Hotel Duval as well. This is a significant change as families used to stay at the Doubletree in Tallahassee before. The Doubletree is not chopped liver but it isn't the best and Jimbo wants Florida State to be the best.

UNCONQUERED! GO NOLES!

Another Future Seminole!

3 Star TE 6'3" 230lbs Will Tye committed to the Noles. He is from Connecticut's prestigious Salisbury School. Recruited by the "Legend" James Coley. Had offers to Miami and NC State. LSU was also making a move.

Fisher told his new staff that he wants Florida State to go after "grown-ass men" and Will Tye fits this. He is a BEAST!

Off Season Workouts are in Full Swing!

FSU players are now going through Vic Viloria's Off Season Strength and Conditioning Program. The biggest change is the number of Staff Members Vic has at his disposal. There is an expert at every station giving the players direction and coaching. They are getting individual instruction and each player is benefiting. Not to mention now they have a nutrition program as well which is properly fueling these great Noles. The enthusiasm is off the charts with the staff and players. Prepare for Greatness!

Coley Tweets are Legendary!

I'm WALKING into your state and claiming it SEMINOLE TERRITORY... It's our WORLD - this is our TIME - We Are The Florida State University!

MiNDSET? UNCONQUERED!!!!!!! Just took a shot of Cuban Coffee - Ready to OUT WILL the competition!!!

The Anti-Kiffin

Fisher has taken over at Florida State and all he has done in the short time is build a quality staff who can coach and recruit. Speaking of recruiting Florida State is on fire on the recruiting trail since Bowden announced his retirement. Jimbo Fisher has just gone to work and no one is going to outwork our guys anymore. More importantly he isn't making an ass out of himself in the process like Lane Kiffin. Jimbo is just fine with me. Less talk and more action.

He has already made significant changes. First he fired all the coaches who couldn't coach and didn't recruit. That has been fixed. All the new coaches are great coaches and great recruiters. Rumor has it they all like each other and get along great. Amazing what happens when everyone is on the same CHAMPIONSHIP page and all do not tolerate SLACKERS including themselves. Just think FSU was short handed in real coaching and recruiting this year and managed to still pull off a winning record and a bowl victory.

There is nobody on this planet who respects and loves Bobby Bowden more than me but honestly it was time for change. He deserves to enjoy the rest of his life stress free and with his family and towards the end he realized that. Fisher has finished his staff and the following is that Staff

Head Coach Jimbo Fisher: Disciple of Saban and Bowden. Extremely hard worker who knows how to organize a Championship football program through Saban's process and do it with class from Bowden.

Offensive Coordinator/Tight Ends Coach James Coley: Jimbo considers him to be an offensive genius and he is the hardest working recruiter on staff. He is already a legend in South Florida and he imposes his will on the Canes and Gators. Miami knows they are in trouble with FSU having the best South Florida recruiter on the planet.

Running Backs/Special Teams Eddie Gran: He spent last year at Tennessee and the previous 10 years at Auburn. Running backs under his direction were Carnell Williams (TB), Ronnie Brown (MIA), Rudi Johnson (CINN), Brandon Jacobs (NYG) and Deuce McAllister (NO). The second best South Florida recruiter on the planet and he can coach the hell out of some running backs.

Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line Rick Trickett: The BEST Offensive Line Coach in the country. 4 of the 5 current starters on the Seminoles will be in the NFL with Rodney Hudson being a projected first round pick. Great Recruiter. He knows exactly what he wants in a lineman and nobody is better at making "3 Star" prospects NFL Caliber lineman.

Wide Receivers Coach/Passing Game Coordinator Lawerence Dawsey: Former FSU Player who will die for his alma mater. Has Florida State receivers blocking down field, catching balls in traffic, and blowing by opponents with blinding speed. He has taken back the Tampa Bay and Jacksonville area in recruiting. Most improved coach on the Staff. Love this guy!

Quarterbacks Coach Dameyune Craig: Jimbo Fisher clone. Hard working and tenacious recruiter. Jimbo trusts him to coach the QB position that's because Jimbo coached Craig at Auburn. He will be the recruiter traveling around during the season as well getting eyes on prospects sooner rather than later. He might be the Recruiting Coordinator as well.

Defensive Coordinator/defensive Backs Mark Stoops: Good recruiter and well he is a Stoops so that definitely means he knows defense. Has ties to South Florida when he was the DB coach for the Hurricanes and coached Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, Phillip Buhcannon, and Antrel Rolle. The yougest and hungriest of the Stoops brothers and may very well turn out to be the best.

Defensive Tackles Odell Haggins: Another former player on the staff who has been a very good recruiter for Florida State. Jimbo Fisher kept Odell because he is a great coach and recruiter and is well networked in the State of Florida and surrounding States. Class guy all the way.

Associate Head Coach/Linebackers Greg Hudson: Former Defensive Coordinator at ECU. An expert against the run and spread. Tenacious recruiter and might be the best technical coach on Staff. The days of Derrick Brooks, Sam Cowart, and Marvin Jones are coming back. Jeff Luc will be a monster under his guidance.

Defensive Ends Darin Eliot: Not much is known about him but he blew Jimbo fisher away at his interview. Rumored to be a James Coley clone who will be great at coaching Defensive Ends and recruiting non-stop. He is also a candidate to be the Recruiting Coordinator.

Strength and Conditioning Vic Viloria: Known as one of the three best S&C Coaches in the Nation. He will turn Florida State players into professional caliber players once again. Bigger, Faster, and more powerful Olympic style training. Alabama, LSU, and USC all use it. This training coupled with a top of the line nutrition program will have FSU winning ACC and National Titles once again.

GO NOLES!!!!!!

#6 Corner in the Nation Goes With FSU!

Brevard Represented at FSU

Brevard County (Space Coast) in recent years has produced many State Champions. Most Recently has been Cocoa but Rockledge and Palm Bay have also been State Champions lately. Brevard County talent has made its way to FSU as well. It seemed to have started with Neefy Moffett of Palm Bay and current Seminole Willie Haulstead (my favorite player)from Titusville. Joining the Brevard County crew will be Darious Cummings from Astronaut High School in Titusville. By proxy he will become tied for my favorite player on the team with Haulstead. Florida State may not be done in Brevard County as they have offered Ronald Patrick from Cocoa for this class(2010) and Chevelle Buie for 2011.

Mr. Buie we won't know for another year and Mr. Patrick appears set on South Carolina so I must as any true Florida State fan entice Mr. Patrick to become a Nole. Just Kidding! One of my very first posts ever on this blog was:

Brevard County in the House! from June 1st 2009

Back in the not too distant past all the Brevard County Talent was always going to the Gators. Recent Palm Bay High School stars such as Reggie Nelson and Joe Cohen have taken the path to Gainesville. Other notable past NFL Greats like Wilbur Marshal and Chris Collinsworth played for Florida via Astronaut High School in Titusville.

Well I am proud to say things are changing. Most recently was Neefy Moffet who had a solid career at FSU from Palm Bay High School to one of the newest WR and current incoming freshman Willie Haulstead from Titusville High School. In addition current 2010 commitment Darious Cummings (DE) from Astronaut High School doesn't appear to be wavering from becoming a future Seminole.

Brevard County is rich with talent and winners. Since 2000 several Brevard County Teams have won State Championships:

2008 Cocoa 3A

2002 Palm Bay 4A

2002 Rockledge 3A

2001 Rockledge 3A

2000 Palm Bay 6A

The pipeline to FSU for Brevard's finest I hope continues.

One player that I feel is way under the Radar is Cocoa's #10 EJ Johnson who had 3 interceptions during the State Title game.

Mike Smith a Running Back from Astronaut High school is also highly talented but a little undersized for what Jimbo seems to prefer (UCF has offered him).

One of EJ Johnson's teammates OG Ronald Patrick 6-2 255lbs has talent and the size, a little smaller......no fat that Coach Trickett may like and he is interested in FSU but I haven't heard of any interest in him. We will have to keep track of that.

Currently the top prospect from Brevard County is Mr. Darious Cummings who is currently the 10th ranked DE in the Nation according to Rivals.com and he is currently committed to FSU.

Whether or not these hometown players go to FSU or not and most likely they all will not, I wish em all the best. Keep your nose clean and be successful boys!

So even back on June I might have known what I was talking about. GO NOLES!!!!!

The Aftermath

Lane Kiffin's sudden departure for Southern Cal has left Tennessee in shambles especially this close to National Signing Day. All of Tennessee's coaches have moved on with Kiffin to USC, except one. That's right, Florida State already hired Eddie Gran as the new RB and Special Teams Coach weeks ago. Eddie Gran is now working OT like he wasn't before and there are several South Florida kids that committed to Tennessee who now are scrambling around themselves. Fortunately Eddie Gran has maintained contact and there is a strong possibility that FSU will pull some of those.

In addition to the massive blow to Tennessee there was also Head Coach Jim Leavitt getting fired at USF which is having an impact on recruiting as well. Todd Chandler of Miami Northwestern is now looking at FSU since the firing of Coach Leavitt. Tennessee Commitment 4 Star DT Calvin Smith of Hialeah Florida and teammate of 4 Star DE Corey Lemonier is now considering the Noles. With Tennessee in such a disaster Smith may become a Nole and Lemonier may be more solidified with Florida State.

In one the most ironical situations Florida State has become one of the more stable programs in the region since Bowden retired. The uncertainty around Urban Meyer and his health at Florida, Tennessee with Kiffin's sudden exit, USF firing Jim Leavitt, and not to mention the coach that Tennessee will hire will then trickle on down once again. It is enough to drive you crazy.

Can it Get Any Wackier?

Lane Kiffin and entire Tennessee Staff to USC! FSU will benefit from this with Eddie Gran on Staff and knowing who the Tennessee targets are. WOW!!!!!!!!!

Noles at the NFL Combine

LB Dakota Watson, CB Patrick Robinson, S Myron Rolle, and former WR Preston Parker are at the NFL Combine. Good Luck Noles and GET PAID!

Fear the Spear

Make no mistake Florida State is going to be back where it belongs. Jimbo Fisher is modernizing the FSU Football Program and will be run in the same mold as Alabama, LSU, and USC (Southern Cal). Remember fans, as good (consistent) as USC, Florida, Texas, Alabama, Ohio state, Oklahoma, and LSU have been lately. It doesn't even come close to the Seminoles dynasty and those dynasty days are coming back with vengeance.

Coley is DA MAN!

His latest Tweet:
CHANGE - its punching U in the mouth!!!

He is relentless agianst Miami.

Too Little Too Late?

This recruiting class for Florida State is shaping up to be a very good class. What I find funny is the utter dissapointment fans get when their favorite school doesn't land the recruits they think they should have. Florida State even in its glory days didn't get every recruit they wanted. There has never been a school that got the "top" 25 recruits in the country so every school misses out.

Last Saturday Rick Trickett, the OL coach for Florida State offered 3 Star OG Ronald Patrick of Cocoa High School which has won back to back State Championships for their class in Florida. Prior to Saturday the following schools have offered Ronald Patrick a football scholarship:

ECU
Midd Tenn State
New Mexico
Western Kentucky

Not exactly the cream of the crop of College football. Then a big program offers in South Carolina and he verbally commits to the Gamecocks on June 21st 2009 according to Rivals. I have to admit I would have done the same thing at this point, wouldn't you?

So the year goes on and as recruiting gets more heated up Florida State finally offers the kid 3 weeks before National Signing Day. I am glad FSU did it. In my head at least I know the new coaching staff can spot talent. I watched Cocoa play Astronaut live and I walked away knowing Ronal Patrick was the best player on the field and FSU Commitment Darius Cummings was also on that field. Jimbo Fisher went to every Florida State Championship Game and got an opportunity to see Cocoa play first hand. After this he has offered 2011 prospect Chevelle Buie and Ronald Patrick.

As a FSU Fan and a Brevard county resident I am happy and proud FSU FINALLY recognized the great player that Ronald Patrick is and if anyone wants to get upset or mad that FSU offered to late then lets all get upset and mad at this list of schools that haven't stepped up to the plate yet on this kid:

Florida
Miami
LSU
Georgia
Clemson
Georgia Tech
UCF
USF

I know some of Ronald's relatives as I work with them out at the space center and I wish the kid the very best where ever he goes and if his relatives are any indication of what this kid is about then his future is bright. Good Luck Ronald where ever you go and this Nole fan will root for you even if you become a Gamecock. GO NOLES!

Change

I was thinking today about Matt Elam switching back to Florida and Barnes de-committing to FSU and going with Clemson and it was bothering me especially with all the positive momentum that Florida State was on. Well I told myself to settle down and relax. Change has come and Fisher is implementing great processes at Florida State but they are going to take time. Players are not going to get bigger, faster, and more powerful by tomorrow. It is a process and he has hired in my opinion a great staff.

I remember FSU beating Alabama during Saban's first year. Now we couldn't touch them. The process works but it does need time and I believe that the process will make "3 Star" guys better than what some of our past "5 Star" guys did. I am on board and I still think that this recruiting class will be in the Top 10 and then more improved processes in Strength and Conditioning, nutrition, and Spring Practice will begin.

One other change that we will see is less access to FSU for the media. Bowden was very open but Saban is not and Fisher knows the process for success and FSU will be closed to the media.

Another note on disappointment. A couple years back Florida State was neck in neck for the "best Linebacker in Florida in the last 20 years" with Miami. Well that player signed with Miami on National Signing Day and I was really disappointed. That player was Willie Williams. Nuff said!

Looks Like the Kabash For Clint Trickett on Twitter

Clint Trickett hasn't tweeted since January 7th. Fisher and Dad have probably put an end to that.

Meanwhile........

Coley........

SEMINOLE WARRIOR, not for everyone only the UNCONQUERED - what are you? Me, I live by the way of the CHOP....

Did U wake up DOING the CHOP - FEAR THE SPEAR

Lose a Recruit to Clemson.....For Now!

4 Star DE Tavaris Barnes of Jacksonville First Coast has de-comitted to FSU and comitted to Clemson. This kid is at a position that FSU needs badly but if a kid doesn't want to be a Nole then he won't be good for us anyway. This may be a FSU swap at signing day but who knows.

Head Coach Jimbo Fisher's complete Press Conferennce

Florida State Update

Florida State's OL Coach Rick Trickett has offered *** OG 6'2" 280 lbs Ronald Patrick from 2- Time State Champion Cocoa High School in Cocoa Florida. He is currently committed to South Carolina. My gut tells me he will go to Florida State but FSU is late in the game with the offer.

Florida State has a new Strength and Conditioning Coach. Mr. Vic Viloria of SMU will join FSU immediately. He was at LSU with Fisher and is said to be one of the top 3 S&C coaches in the country. Florida State will have the same S&C program as LSU, Alabama, and USC.

Drama!

5 Star Safety Matt Elam is probably going to switch back to Florida. I will keep him on the recruiting board until he officially announces on Saturday during the Army All Star Game. As a fan I wish and hope he stays with Florida State but this is his life and his choice. I wish the guy the best of luck where ever he goes. I just hope its garnet and gold but if it isn't I won't lose sleep. FSU will still have a great recruiting class anyway.

Coaching Staff in Place, S&C Coach by End of the Week

Future Coaching Staff after January 1st.

Head Coach: Jimbo Fisher (Will coach 1st Team QBs and call Offensive plays.)

Offensive Coordinator/Tight Ends: James Coley

Offensive Line: Rick Trickett (Keeps Assistant Head Coach for more pay which he has earned.)

Wide Receivers/Passing Offensive Coordinator: Lawrence Dawsey (Sounds like Dawsey got a raise)

Running Backs/Special Teams: Eddie Gran

Quarterbacks/Recruiting Coordinator: Dameyune Craig (Coach 2nd Team QB and other Offensive needs. He has been designated the Recruiting Coach that will travel during the season to visit recruits hence why I believe he will be the Recruiting Coordinator.

Defensive Coordinator/Secondary: Mark Stoops

Linebackers: Greg Hudson (He will be given an Executive Head Coaching title as well to give him more money than he got at ECU as their Defensive Coordinator.)

Defensive Tackles: Odell Hagans

Defensive Ends: Darin Eliot (He might be the recruiting coordinator instead of Dameyune Craig) Rumor has it he may be a Coley Clone.....WOW!

Strength and Conditioning: VACANT

Jimbo has a plan and vision and it appears the AD is on board. CHOP IT UP SEMINOLES!

2011 Local RB Gets FSU Offer

Chevelle Buie 5'9" 160lbs 4.5 40 yard dash who is a RB for the current 2 time State Champion Cocoa Tigers of Cocoa Florida has been offered a scholarship from FSU. I personally love it when FSU goes after Brevard County players.South Carolina, TCU, and Georgia have also offered this young man.

Florida smashed Cinncinnati in the real Sugar Bowl so I am going to use that score which is probably more accurate than the XBox 360 NCAA 10 Simulation.

If I Were a 5 Star Recruit

I have narrowed my list of 10 schools down to 5. Remember for this hypothetical situation I am a 5 Star DT 6'3" and 300lbs from Titusville Florida. The following was my list of my top 10 schools:

1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. Florida State
4. LSU
5. USC
6. Notre Dame
7. Tennessee
8. Georgia Tech
9. Miami
10. Clemson

My list is narrowed down to these five schools and in order:
1. Alabama (Currently the best program near my home)
2. Florida State (I like what FSU is doing with coaches and recruiting and I am a fan)
3. Clemson (I like the history and small college town feel)
4. Miami (I respect their history and they are coming back and close to home)
5. Florida (Could have easily been my #1 but the recent uncertainty surrounding Urban Meyer is a huge concern)

Another Commitment

4 Star WR Kenny Shaw 6'0" 175lbs of Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando committed to the Noles on the Under Armor All Star Game. He had offers from UF, Miami, LSU, UGA, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, and Ohio State. He was recruited by Dawsey and Trickett.

Chop It Up Seminoles!

A Perfect Ending

Florida State beat #16 West Virginia 33 to 21 in Bobby Bowden's and Mickey Andrew's last game. After a typical start by the FSU defense the Seminoles started getting after the Mountaineers and provided an "old school" glimpse of swarming defense and knocked out West Virginia's starting QB Jarrett Brown. After that it was blood in the water as the Noles came after true freshman QB Geno Smith.

The defense was helped tremendously by FSU's offensive game plan which put up 415 total yards with 226 yards rushing. This caused a huge disparity in time of possession in favor of FSU 37:07 to 22:53. Redshirt Freshman QB Manuel was perfect. He played within his means and didn't turn the ball over.

Since Starting the season 2-4 FSU went 5-2 the rest of the way and 3-1 with Manuel at QB. The future is bright.

It was great to see Bowden throw down the spear. Thanks Coach Bowden for all the great memories and I hope you have a long and healthy retirement. God Bless!
