YAY PAHOKEE!!!!!!

Mr. Merrill Noel is commitment #6. The Pahokee standout is a *** CB 5'10" 180 Lbs.
What an awesome last name to be a Nole.
I will just say one thing....Pahokee kids can flat out play. Keep em coming boys.
Recruited by James Coley.

The Stupid Shall Be Punished

Once again an FSU player has been arrested and suspended. The only shocker is that it is not a Wide Receiver.

Back-up Linebacker Maurice Harris was arrested and suspended from the team until the legal matter is done.

This is so frustrating to keep having these type of character issues. I know choir boys don't win football games but holy crap enough is enough.

The saddest thing is..........I will have another post at another time concerning this same issue.

Last Impressions

I just wanted to leave you with the last impression the MIGHTY NOLES left us.

I'm Happy.....The Girls are Happy!

Today FSU received commitment number 4 and 5.
Commitment 4: Tavaris Barnes 6'5" 250 Lbs DL. No Stars attached yet but had offers from Florida, North Carolina, Clemson, and USF to name a few. Personally I like FSU going after what they want instead of what Recruiting Guru's say. He is from Jacksonville First Coast and was recruited by Lawrence Dawsey.
Commitment 5: De'Joshua Johnson 5'11" 150 Lbs WR. **** Committed to FSU over Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Miami, and Michigan to name a few. Recruited by James Coley from Pahokee High School in Pahokee Florida. He is a STUD with SPEED, SPEED, and more SPEED. This could help FSU land fellow **** WR Chris Dunkley from Pahokee as well.

Top 10 FSU Players

Going into the 2009 FSU Football season I will rank the Top 10 football players with about 3 honorable mentions. These will change week to week once the season starts and based on performance a more accurate list will be compiled.
1. Rodney Hudson (JR OG) 1st Team ALL ACC. Preseason ALL AMERICAN. Just watch this guy on replays of touchdowns. He is always bringing the pain to the Defense.
2. Dakota Watson (SR LB) SPEED, SPEED, and more SPEED. solidified this spot with an outstanding Champs Sports Bowl that included a fumble recovery for a TD that made Wisconsin look as if they were standing still.
3. Patrick Robinson (SR CB) Very experienced and athletic player in the Noles secondary. Has the potential to make a huge difference this year. ALL ACC candidate.
4. Jermaine Thomas (SO RB) Averaged 7.0 yards per carry as a true freshman. Stronger, faster, and runs behind the best OL in the ACC. Dark Horse Heisman candidate if he can stay healthy in years to come.
5. Ryan McMahon (RS JR C) No question in my eyes that he is the best Center in the Conference. A monster from day one when he came over from the defensive side.
6. Christian Ponder (RS JR QB) Solid QB. Very intelligent and agile. Throws well and runs well. Potential to be the best Jimbo ever coached. ALL ACC Candidate.
7. Markus White (JR DE) Looking for the next great DE from FSU.....well here he is. Played behind Everett Brown but will make his own name this season.
8. Nigel Bradham (SO LB) This season will be the breakout year for this guy. He will re-establish the fear that M. Jones, D. Brooks, and S. Cowart brought to the field.
9. Bert Reed (RS SO WR) Has all the tools but can he stay on the field without getting in trouble. If he has matured then we should see big things from him.
10. Greg Reid (FR CB) That's right.........Mr. Reid is going here. He will make a difference from day one. I watched P. Harvin's and R. Bush's High School clips and this guy is off the charts as well. He will make big plays at CB and returning the football on Special Teams.
Honorable Mention:
Brandon Jenkins (FR DE) early enroll has shown he can be a stud.
Andrew Datko (SO OT) Freshman All American is only getting better.
Louis Givens (SR WR) All he does is make plays at WR and ST.
Moses McCray (SO DT) forced into immediate playing time last year. He can be a force.
Jarmon Fortson (SO WR) showed signs of brilliance and will be getting major playing time to prove himself.
Jacobbi McDaniel (FR DT) Will get significant Playing Time and is being compared to Warren Sapp.

Jacobbi

Update: Jaccobi will be playing Football for FSU. That is done and we don't have to worry anymore. Prepare for the beat down ACC.

Update: Jacobbi was drafted in the 33rd round of the MLB Draft by the Brewers. Apparently he got an unusually high contract offer for a player chosen in the 33rd round. Holy Crap how many flippin rounds are there in the MLB Draft. Warchant is following this closely and they are linked at this blog.

The rumor of Jacobbi McDaniel (All World DT) being drafted by Major League Baseball high enough to go straight to the pros and make big money apparently did not happen. By all indications Mr. McDaniel will be crushing ACC QBs and RBs for the next couple of seasons at FSU.

Glad it isn't a Nole!

ESPN reports:

A Gator has been arrested.

In all seriousness I don't want to see any student athlete get into trouble, and yes that even means a Gator.......but I hope this is a friendly reminder to our beloved Noles to keep your nose clean and don't be getting in trouble. Get focused on the season.

Brevard is in the House!

Back in the not too distant past all the Brevard County Talent was always going to the Gators. Recent Palm Bay High School stars such as Reggie Nelson and Joe Cohen have taken the path to Gainesville. Other notable past NFL Greats like Wilbur Marshal and Chris Collinsworth played for Florida via Astronaut High School in Titusville.

Well I am proud to say things are changing. Most recently was Neefy Moffet who had a solid career at FSU from Palm Bay High School to one of the newest WR and current incoming freshman Willie Haulstead from Titusville High School. In addition current 2010 commitment Darious Cummings (DE) from Astronaut High School doesn't appear to be wavering from becoming a future Seminole.

Brevard County is rich with talent and winners. Since 2000 several Brevard County Teams have won State Championships:

2008 Cocoa 3A

2002 Palm Bay 4A

2002 Rockledge 3A

2001 Rockledge 3A

2000 Palm Bay 6A

The pipeline to FSU for Brevard's finest I hope continues.

One player that I feel is way under the Radar is Cocoa's #10 EJ Johnson who had 3 interceptions during the State Title game.

Mike Smith a Running Back from Astronaut High school is also highly talented but a little undersized for what Jimbo seems to prefer (UCF has offered him).

One of EJ Johnson's teammates OG Ronald Patrick 6-2 255lbs has talent and the size, a little smaller......no fat that Coach Trickett may like and he is interested in FSU but I haven't heard of any interest in him. We will have to keep track of that.

Currently the top prospect from Brevard County is Mr. Darious Cummings who is currently the 10th ranked DE in the Nation according to Rivals.com and he is currently committed to FSU.

Whether or not these hometown players go to FSU or not and most likely they all will not, I wish em all the best. Keep your nose clean and be successful boys!
