Whats Going On!

It is a very important time for Florida State right now in recruiting and selecting a new Defensive Coordinator and position coaches.

Jimbo, Coley, Trickett, Dawsey, and Haggins are recruiting hard.

The results have produced Commitments from:

JC **** CB Mike Harris 6'0" 185lbs 4.4 40 yard dash. Mr Harris is originally from Miami but is at El Camino C.C. in California. He chose FSU over Alabama and was recruited by Fisher and Coley. Will be on campus no later than the Spring hopefully January.

2011 CB Keelin Smith 6'3" 185lbs. Projected **** star from Treasure Coast High School in Port St. Lucie Florida. Recruited by Coley.

2011 S Lamarcus Brutus 6'1" 185lbs. Projected **** star from Treasure Coast High School in Port St. Lucie Florida. Recruited by Coley.

Note: Keelin and Lamarcus are from the same high school as Jeff Luc the **** Star LB that FSU is going after hard. They chose FSU over LSU and Ohio State.

2011 OL Trey Pettis 6'5" 290lbs from Deland High School in Florida. Recruited by Fisher and Trickett.

Coaching Staff Updates:
As stated before the top candidates for the Defensive Coordinator are in order:

1. Alabama Defensive Coordinator Kirby Smart. The longer the delay in announcing a new Defensive Coordinator the more likely it really may be Smart. Jimbo wants a Saban defense.

2. Alabama LB Coach Sal Sunseri. Another Saban Defense guy and has pro experience with the Carolina Panthers.

3. Eastern Carolina Defensive Coordinator Greg Hudson. He continually puts out a top defense with marginal talent.

4. South Carolina Defensive Coordinator Ellis Johnson. Top 15 defense the last 2 years and has coached defense in the SEC for the last 10 years.

5. New Orleans Saints Defensive Line Coach Travis Jones: Excellent coach with professional experience and coached with Fisher at LSU.

Position Coaches

Dameyune Craig most likely will be on the coaching staff but it may not be the RB coach so I am removing him from that slot until its official.

Jimbo asked Tennessee permission to talk with their RB Coach Eddie Gran. Currently coaches RB at Tennessee. Coached RBs at Auburn for 10 years. Also coaches Special Teams.

Clint Bowen the Defensive Coordinator at Kansas is wanting to be the DB Coach at FSU. Not sure if this is likely but it is out there.

The Bud Foster thing is one that I really think is out there. It will not happen. The latest is he would take a position coaching job at FSU.......>RIIIIIIGGGGHHHHTTTT!!!!!!!!
